11 Random Things I Learned in 2010

As you may know, I hated reading growing up and now I love cracking open a new book. Now I’m not into fiction, I have movies for that 🙂

I like the stuff that helps me expand my mind, improve my positive mental attitude and move forward in life.

In fact I reached my goal of reading 30 books this year so I thought I’d share a thing or two I learned along the way.

Here’s 11 random things I learned (or knew, but finally put to use) as well as some miscellaneous quotes I’ve picked up in 2010

1. Knowing you could have made someone’s day and actually making their day are two dramatically different things. From The Fred Factor by Mark Sandborn

2. Run your technology don’t let it run you. Cut down on electric time… T.V, video games, e-mail, cell phone, internet, ect. Choose to log on, but don’t get sucked into it. From Crazy Busy by Dr. Edward M. Hallowell

“A mans doubts and fears are his own worst enemies” William Wrigley Jr. from the Aladdin Factor by Jack Canfield

3. Don’t allow someone to shake your hand with theirs on top of yours. It means they’re trying to assert their dominance on you. From The Definitive Book of Body Language by Allan and Barbara Pease

4. You create all your own fears. The Aladdin Factor

“If it were easy, everyone would be doing it” from The Female Body Breakthrough by Rachel Cosgrove

5. Action cures fear. The Aladdin Factor

6. The “okay I’ll give it a try but I don’t think it will work” attitude produces failure. The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz

7. Successful people are just ordinary folks who have developed belief in themselves and what they do.  The Magic of Thinking Big

“Strategy trumps will power” – Valerie Waters from the Female Body Breakthrough

8. It’s not a lack of intelligence that holds us back, it’s our own negative attitudes. The Magic of Thinking Big

9. You can’t smile and be in a bad mood. When you smile (no matter how you feel) your body will respond by being excited, happy and energized. Unlimited Power by Anthony Robbins

10. When you realize you can handle anything life throws at you, you won’t need to fear anything. Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway by Susan Jeffers

“Success is success because to achieve it is difficult. To be mediocre is easy. That’s why there are so many people living mediocre lives” from Advanced Rhinocerology by Scott Robert Alexander

11. The life you currently live is the result of all your past actions. The Success Principles by Jack Canfield

I hope this inspires you to make 2011 better than 2010
